hi, hello.
In case you wanted a little intel beyond the writing: I grew up in East Tennessee where I developed a love of fried chicken, boxed wine, college football, and telling a good story--particularly stories about Appalachia. I've published reported work and essays across a number of outlets including The Guardian, GQ, NYLON, Elle, Entertainment Weekly, Men's Health, The Second Serve, Vulture, and The Hollywood Reporter. I spent five years at Esquire as a staff writer, where I learned to appreciate mezcal, white tennis shoes, and restaurants that serve appetizer-sized food, priced as entrees.
I received my masters in communications from Georgetown University with a concentration in marketing. I have extensive experience in copywriting, ghostwriting, and branded content. These days, I split my time across narrative nonfiction, magazine feature writing, marketing support, and fiction.
I currently live in Brooklyn with my husband and two cats, Puddle and Jimmy. My favorite place in the world is either on my parent's porch or my couch, with bourbon in hand.
